Word to type
Type the word, then press Enter or Submit. Word goals have no deadline; sprint mode lasts 60 seconds.
With an input method editor (IME), Enter pressed while composing submits after composition ends. Pasting is blocked.
How it works and limits
How to play
- Choose a language and a 5, 10 or 20-word goal, or a 60-second sprint. Word goals are untimed. Active time starts with your first character.
- When the word is typed, press Enter or Submit. Submit is handy on phone on-screen keyboards.
- A wrong word stays on screen — just type it again; there is no per-word deadline. Skip if it is too hard.
- Switching windows pauses the clock. Stop shows your result so far.
How it is counted
Submitted text is normalised to Unicode NFC with outer spaces trimmed. English ignores case. Enter pressed during IME composition submits the final committed text after composition ends.
Points are letters × 10 times a streak bonus. Characters per minute (Korean) and WPM (English) use only correctly submitted words and never mix with classic practice records.
Limits
Input methods, autocomplete and on-screen keyboards change results. Speeds beyond human typing are not scored. Saving a completed summary in this browser is optional.
If a key never registers or types twice, run the keyboard test first.
Classic practice · How it works and limits
How it works
- Choose a round (30 s, 60 s or one passage) and a practice language, then press Start.
- The clock starts with your first character. Fix mistakes with Backspace.
- Switching windows or leaving the typing box pauses the clock; press Continue to resume.
- When it ends you get your result and a one-line tip. Saving is optional.
How it is counted
Korean uses characters per minute: correct characters scaled to one minute, counting each syllable, space and punctuation mark once. It is not a keystroke count.
English uses WPM: correct characters divided by 5 per minute. Accuracy is the share of characters left in the box that match the text; mistakes you fixed are not counted against you.
Characters still being composed by an IME are not counted until committed, including one in progress when time runs out. Pasting and dropping are blocked, and a round where many characters arrive at once is not scored.
When to use the keyboard test instead
If a key never registers, types twice from one press, or seems stuck down, run the keyboard test before practising. Practice scores do not judge keyboard condition.
Limits
Results vary with the browser, input method, keyboard layout and whether you use an on-screen keyboard. Keep phone on-screen keyboard results separate from physical keyboard results. Autocomplete or autocorrect can change results.
